On D plus 1, the weather was again threatening. However, in the morning, 37 planes took off with instructions to bomb at not below 2,000 feet. The first box, lead by Maj. Willetts, Lt. Royalty, B-N, had to stay down at 2,000 feet in order to make their attack. Their target was a highway bridge at Lessay. Poor visibility made it difficult to find the target, and a highway approach to a bridge south of the target was hit. The other box led by Lt. Marzolf, Lt. Basnett, B-N, attacked the road junction in the heart of Tillysur-Seulles. Dropped from 2,000 feet, the bombs hit in a loose concentration around the M.P.I., possibly cutting several highways.

On two different missions on June 7th, the 670th had 18 crews. Seven crews were part of a mission that had a double target, in the morning, attacking a highway bridge at Pont de La Roque; and a road junction at Billeroy. In the late afternoon 11 crews took part in a mission against a highway junction at Tilly Sur Seulles, where at that time, a large battle was raging. Poor weather prevented our planes from giving much aid to the tide of battle.

After a good nights rest (?) the Group drove out again over the invasion coast and penetrated the enemy defenses to hit at bridges, crossroads and an infantry division Headquarters. No enemy fire was met in the days operations, a complete reversal of the day before. These targets were hit on two missions; one in the early morning, and the other in the afternoon. Results were believed to have been good. All planes returned safely.
