Overbrook Aviator Is Killed In Crash Second Lieutenant Howard J. Hildebrandt, son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Hildebrandt, 6108 Nassau road, Overbrook, was one of six Army fliers killed when two planes crashed near Merryville, La., last Friday, the War Department announced yesterday. Sergeant Richard L. Wentling, of Lititz, Pa., and Sergent Lawrence E. Zelly, of Burlington, N.J., also died in the crash. Lieutenant Hildebrandt was a junior auditor for the Sun Oil Co. when he enlisted as an air cadet in February, 1942. He is also survived by a brother, John, of Lansdowne, and a sister, Mrs. Clara Steele, of this city. Extracted from Newspapers.com |
