Again on the 22nd, in a morning and an afternoon mission two NOBALL Targets were attacked. In the morning the two boxes led by Major Campbell with Lt. William F. Palin, B/N, and Major Price with Lt. Hand, B/N, hit short of the target at Behen. In the afternoon, however, Major Willetts with Lt. Royalty, B/N, led his box on a good run and hit the target at Linghem with very good results. The second box led by Captain David Hulse with Lt. Conte, B/N, were too wide to make a bomb run.

Mission #24 - 22 April - AM - Behen NoBall. Major Campbell and Lt. Palin BN led Box I with Major Price and Lt. Hand leading Box II. Captain Hulse and Lt. Conte, BN and Lt. Stockwell with Lt. Jedinak BN led flights. This target was in the Pas de Calais area, making it a short run for the group. Flak was accurate on the bomb run with no serious damage to the planes or personnel.

The next two days were busy ones. Two missions were flown on the 22nd, both noball targets, in which we had a total of 18 crews participating.


"671st Bomb Squadron (L) Unit History"

The morning target for today was one of the familiar No-Ball targets of the Pas De Calais areaùBehen. Boxes were led by Major Campbell and Major Price. The mission was a short run in from the coast. Flak was encountered on the bomb run, but no one was injured, nor were any ships severely damaged. Bombing results were officially described as good.
