December 5, 2025

Dear Friends and Families of the 416th Bomb Group,

On behalf of the 2026 Reunion Planning Committee, we would like to invite you to the 2026 416th Bomb Group Reunion in Dayton, Ohio. The reunion will take place starting Wednesday, September 16th (an arrival day for many) and end after breakfast and checkout on Sunday, September 20, 2026. We are announcing the dates of the reunion now so you will save the dates and make tentative plans to attend!

The reunion will be held at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base at the Hope Hotel and Conference Center (named after the famed entertainer Bob Hope) and is the only privately owned hotel throughout the Air Force. It is marked as Building #823 and is located right next to Gate 12A which goes onto Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (there are signs directing you to the hotel before you go through the gate). The conference center has a storied past; in 1995, Richard C. Holbrooke was chief negotiator and U. S. diplomat who helped negotiate the end of the Bosnia - Herzegovina War (known as the Dayton Accords) which were held at the Conference Center. The Mustang Room in the hotel will be our Hospitality Room and where the Saturday business meeting will be held. Our Saturday evening buffet dinner will be held in the hotel's Sabre-Phantom room.

On Thursday morning we will go to the National Museum of the United States Air Force. The museum is first-rate and really worth visiting! We have arranged for a docent to take us through the WWI and WWII sections. The tour itself will take about an hour and a half after which you are free to explore the other areas on your own.

Friday may be a day to explore the Dayton area on your own. Dayton is the epicenter of all things Wright Brothers and there are several places in and around Dayton to see where they lived and worked. After exploring all day, we will serve our "traditional" pizza dinner in the Hospitality Room.

An added attraction this year is the visit to Dayton by Sally and Ross Stewart from Great Britian who are caretakers of the Wethersfield Museum. Wethersfield Army Air Corps Airfield is where the 416th Bomb Group was stationed and flew many of their missions from during the war. We are very excited to have Sally and Ross back with us again (they first visited in 2017) as they are a great couple who bring their perspective, knowledge and warm personalities to our group. They have hosted many (if not all) visitors from the US who have made their way to Wethersfield to see where their family served while in England.

To register at the hotel, call the Hope Hotel at 937-879-2696 and ask for the 416th Bomb Group Rate. That rate is $99 which includes a buffet breakfast each day. After the New Year, we will send you a registration form, confirm the registration fee (approx. $120) and update you with any new information.

Happy Holidays!!
