Obituary

Raymond Wright

Services for Raymond Elwin Wright, 71, of Odessa are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Crescent Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Bratcher officiating.

Burial will be 3 p.m. in Denver City Cemetery.

Mr. Wright died Wednesday at Medical Center Hospital. He was born June 29, 1921 in Eagletown, Okla. He married Billie Mayben Jan. 22, 1972, in Odessa.

Mr. Wright was raised in Eagletown. He came to Odessa from Broken Bow, Okla. in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a prisoner of war. He was a member of the Permian Basin Chapter of Ex-POWs and Veterans of Foreign Wars Lodge No. 4372, Paul G. Mahoney Lodge. After discharge from the service he moved to Wink. He worked for Cody-Teague Trucking Co. a truck driver and retired in 1982.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Billy Wayne Wright of Kermit, and Arthur Linn and Phillip Linn, both of Odessa; five daughters, Carolyn "L.B." Carroll of Monahans, Kay Hood and Martha Jackson, both of Odessa, Ollie Chandler of Boys Ranch and Mariann Caines of Lubbock; a brother, Wayne Wright of Andrews; two sisters, Dorothy Allen and Ruby Pickett, both of Broken Bow; 23 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Frank W. Wilson Funeral Director is in charge of arrangements.
