Vern Edward Molver

Vern Edward Molver was born Jun. 21, 1921 in Coquille, Coos County, Oregon to parents Daniel Malatin and Marguerite (Du Pee Sprenger) Molver.

He served as an Armorer-Gunner in the 668th Bomb Squadron, 416th Bomb Group, was shot down over France, captured, escaped and fought with French Underground until repatriated on 8 Sep 44.

Vern passed August 1, 1964 in Albany, Linn County, Oregon and is buried at in Plot: F, 4643, Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.

On his Find-A-Grave memorial, his neice, Donna Molver, posted the following memory:
"Uncle Vern, I remember you from only my childhood, and most clearly as a slim, handsome man with a twinkle in your eye. In fact you used to wink an eye to acknowledge me, and I have always liked that in a person, since you. My dad, your brother Dan, was proud of your military record. He told us kids about your plane having been shot down over France, and how the French underground hid you 'til you got to safety. You passed way too young. I hope there is more in store for you, good things and love, in whatever lies beyond what we know of the here and now."
