416th Bombardment Group (L) 2008 Reunion Topsail Island, North Carolina October 15-18, 2008

The 2008 reunion of the 416th Bomb Group was hosted by the Brewer family at Topsail Island, a coastal island on the Atlantic shore of North Carolina. Members filtered into the area throughout the week, many of them enjoying an extended stay and the beautiful weather. A hospitality room for fellowship, with drinks and snacks, was provided in one of the ocean-view suites. Two upper level decks, overlooking the beach, were a popular attraction. As usual, members and family brought photo albums to share. The local museum, steeped in military lore, hosted a luncheon for reunion guests and arranged to have a memorial video produced. The guests enjoyed a scenic boat cruise on the sound. Carl Sgamboti played a demo CD of newly discovered 416th images, many of which were seen for the first time by attendees. The business meeting on Saturday addressed the question of whether another reunion might be possible. Those present voted to accept an offer by Wayne and Doris Sayles to host a 2009 reunion in Branson, Missouri.
